Leeus/Transvaal - 21 eindstryde voor 2019, 9 gewen en 1 gedeel

So hierdie is die unie se 22ste Curriebeker eindstryd

6 van die Leeus se 9 wenne was weg wedstryde:

1939 vs WP
1952 vs Boland
1972 vs Oos Transvaal
1993 vs Sharks
1994 vs Cheetahs
1999 vs Sharks

Tuis wenne:
1950 vs WP
2011 vs Sharks
2015 vs WP

Die gelykop was ook tuis in 1971 vs Noord Transvaal

Telling in 2015 vs WP was 32-24

Ross en Warren het in die 2015 eindstryd gespeel, Jaco Kriel was die Leeus se kaptein. Weet nie of Warren dalk Satredag sal speel nie, twyfel. Ross het 2 driee in die finaal gedruk in 2015

Ek sien FS is die oorgrote gunsteling om te wen, en mense praat van hoe goed die Pro14 vir hulle was en so aan.. Wat hulle vergeet is dat die FS die enigste span is wat met n volsterkte span speel, hierdie is die beste span wat hulle op n veld kan stoot. Daarteenoor speel al die ander Super rugby unies met verswakte spanne. Ek dink al 4 super rugby spanne sal die vloer vee met hierdie FS span.

So ek dink ons jong spannetjie het regtig goed gedoen om die finaal te haal. En hulle het die vorige game in Bloem gewen, so hul kan dit weer doen!

Ja ek dink mense vergeet dat dit net Vrystaat is wat met 'n volsterkte span speel. As dit 'n dubbelrondte was, het die laaste deel van Curriebeker seker met Pro-14 oorvleuel en dan was hulle ook maar nerens soos laas jaar wat hulle onder ge-eindig het

Interesting stats. So we do well in away games. 
And let the press speak the Cheetahs up. If they rock up over confident, it will be to our advantage. Will be a tough game in any case.

It will certainly be tough, Cheetahs looked very good last Saturday, specially in the latter stages of the 2nd half, perhaps the Sharks gave up and if you give up in rugby it gets ugly quickly.

Dis die 3rde keer in die geskiedenis dat die Leeus en Cheetahs teen mekaar in 'n eindstryd speel. In 1994 het die Leeus gewen en in 2007 het die Cheetahs gewen, altwee wedstryde was in Bloemfontein, soos hierdie 3rde een, so die twee spanne het nog nooit in 'n finaal op Ellispark gespeel nie.

Die stats is maar net ter inligting, dit beteken nie regtig veel nie want veral die Leeus speel met spelers met min ervaring, in ons squad van 23 is dit net Ross wat in die 2015 finaal gespeel het.

I suppose its nice to be in the final, even if the comp is a little watered down. 

The young guys, must taste victory and learn how to cope in finals pressure. 

The cheetahs had a lot more intensity in their game vs the sharks vs what we showed against the kwaste. We will have to step it up if we want to stand a chance in this game.

The comp is a little watered down, but this has been the most I've been interested in the CC for some time.

Met die uitsondering van Jantjies, sowel as Skosaan en Coetzee, dink ek dat hierdie baie naby is aan ons Super rugby span, so ek hoop ons doen goed. Albei spanne is fiks, vaardig en het veggees. Dink die groot verskil is die ervaring van Ruan Pienaar en Tiaan Meyer.

Jip, ek dink dit is hoekom saterdag se finaal so belangrik is vir volgende jaar se super rugby. Klap die Cheetahs ons is dit bad vir selfvetroue.

Sounds as if Mapoe is heading with Combrink to Stade Francais. Last I heard Kwagga is skipping Super Rugby next year. Don't know what his plans are the year after.
