Daar het vanjaar heelwat jong manne deurgekom in Super rugby .... kom ons hoop dat die unie vanjaar die Currie beker ernstig opneem, die vorige twee jare het dit gevoel asof die unie maar net speel in die CB omdat hulle moet.

Kom ons hoop maar
1. Die unie gebruik vanjaar hulle beste spelers vir die CB
2. n Behoorlike erkende afrigter word vinnig aangewys (nie net weer iemand om ondervinding in afrigting op te doen)
3. Swys moet nou sy fokus rig op die Bokke afrig  hy moet span keuses oorlaat aan die nuwe afrigter. Los proefnemings maar en fokus biedtjie op die beker wen
4. Kom ons hoop die groep word vroegtydig aangewys en hulle begin vroeg  oefen , nie net weer n week voor die tyd nie.

Ek persoonlik sal graag vir Lemmer wil sien as hoofafrigter ,Redelinghuis en Paar Boys afrigter as sy assistente. Lemmer het die jong manne in 0/19 en o/21 gelei tot bekers. 

Die unie moet belê in n behoorlke verdedigings afrigter met die oog op die toekkos Joey kan ander span gaan afrig

Joey was hoofafrigter van die O/19s wat in 2016 en 2017 die beker gewen het.
Herkie Kruger het die O/21s afgeriig in 2016. Ek weet nie wie was die coach in 2017 nie, maar dit was nie Lemmer nie

Ek dink ook nie Lemmer was al ooit 'n hoofafrigter nie, selfs by UJ waar hy was voor ons was hy 'n assistent

Die Leeus sou more (Donderdag 27 Junie) 'n perskonferensie hou waar die Curriebeker afrigting span en squad aangekondig sou word, maar ons is so pas laat weet dat dit gekanselleer is. Volgens die e-mail se hulle dis nog nie gefinaliseer nie, en daarom kan die konferensie nie voortgaan nie

Either that, or they are shaking up the coaching staff nd need time to finalise negotiations with the new guys.

Dink ook dit is die spelers se kontrakte en seker nie lus om heeltyd daaroor gepeper te word nie.

Consistency was the key in the Lions Rugby Company’s appointment of the Coach of the Xerox Golden Lions for the 2019 DirectAxis Currie Cup season.

Ivan van Rooyen will retain the role of head coach of the Xerox Golden Lions after they just missed out on a spot in the final last year.

Van Rooyen joined the Lions in 2009 after hanging up his boots as a player. After successfully working with the junior sides, Vodacom Cup, Super Rugby and Currie Cup teams as a sport scientist, in 2018 he became the Performance Excellence Manager at the Lions Rugby Company.

In 2018, Van Rooyen took the reigns as head coach of the Currie Cup, while he also stepped in as head coach during the Emirates Lions’ tour in this year’s Vodacom Super Rugby against the Chiefs and Crusaders.

Courtnall Skosan has committed to Lions Rugby until 2021. Skosan joined the Lions in 2014 and has since played 72 Vodacom Super Rugby matches for the Lions, which includes 33 tries and 165 points.
