Ek dink daar is van die scrummies wat se kontrakte dalk klaar maak die jaar. 

Ek was ook nooit n Nohamba fan nie, maar net oor sy cocky houding, maar kom ons wees eerlik: nie Ginter of Claassen het nog sover die wereld aan die brand gespeel by ons nie.

Ek dink hy is n goeie kopie. tussen hom, Krappie en Warner het ons nou 3 scrummies met meer ervaring, wat ons opsies in die URC net soveel meer maak.

Our contracting department confuse me. 

We signed Ginter Smuts and he can't even get into our Currie Cup team (which can't win a game). Now we sign a 22 year old scrumhalf with bok ambitions. Total of 5 scrumhalves.... (Vd Berg, Warner, Steyn, Smuts and Nohomba). How much of our capped salary budget is tied up in 5 scrumhalves while we can't keep our few stars.

I like Nohamba. I think he has good potential and a decent kicking option. But is Morne is our 9 why are we signing another ambitious 9? It will end in tears for one of them. Also what does this say to Nico Steyn?

If you have a great culture and are winning games then players will accept less money because it is an environment guys want to be in and they can compete from trophies and get into Bok squads. That is how it was at the Lions a few years ago. Sadly not anymore - now I get the feeling that even offering to match offers our guys get isn't enough to keep them.

We know staying in Jhb is not as lekker as some of our coastal provinces, so yes we can't compete there, a winning culture did help us a lot, but eventually they also moved on for money.  Even if we had all the bucks and win everything, we will also not be able to keep everybody happy, this we must also realise. The Bulls have still lost good players, in the last year or two, although everything was going for them. Players want a better lifestyle and family matters.

On the boks.. honestly the bok alignment camp has just highlighted what a joke Nienaber is. He didn't want to blood new guys EOY due to them wanting to win, now a couple of guys put their hands up, they still don't want to blood them, because they need to focus on their existing combinations and have talks with players who have been injured for months.

Al hierdie jong spelers waarmee ons nou bou se kontrakte verval 10-teen-1 die jaar of volgende jaar. Krities om almal te hou anders gaan ons maar net weer moet bou en nooit nêrens kom nie.

Ongelukkig kan jy ook nie net bou nie. Om kompetisies te wen het jy talent en top-klas gehalte nodig.
