Player: Tanielu Tele'a Tanielu Tele'a of the Blues has received a Red Card for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend. Tele'a is alleged to have contravened Law 9.17: A player must not tackle, charge, pull, push or grasp an opponent whose feet are off the ground, during the match between the Blues and Stormers at Eden Park in Auckland on 30 March 2019. The Case is to be considered in the first instance by the SANZAAR Foul Play Review Committee which will take place on Monday 1 April 2019, 9am(SAST), 6pm(AEDT), 8pm(NZDT) via video-conference. ____________________________________________________________________ Player: Schalk Brits Schalk Brits of the Bulls has received a Red Card for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend. Brits is alleged to have contravened Law 9.12: A player must not physically abuse anyone. Physical abuse includes, but is not limited to punching or striking with the hand or arm, during the match between the Sharks and Bulls at Jonnsson Kings Park in Durban on 30 March 2019. The Case is to be considered in the first instance by the SANZAAR Foul Play Review Committee which will take place on Monday 1 April 2019, 9am(SAST), 6pm(AEDT), 8pm(NZDT) via video-conference. ____________________________________________________________________ Player: Armand van der Merwe Armand van der Merwe of the Sharks has received a Red Card for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend. van der Merwe is alleged to have contravened Law 9.12: A player must not physically abuse anyone. Physical abuse includes, but is not limited to punching or striking with the hand or arm, during the match between the Sharks and Bulls at Jonnsson Kings Park in Durban on 30 March 2019. The Case is to be considered in the first instance by the SANZAAR Foul Play Review Committee which will take place on Monday 1 April 2019, 9am(SAST), 6pm(AEDT), 8pm(NZDT) via video-conference. ____________________________________________________________________ All SANZAAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to the Foul Play Review Committee to provide the option of expediting the judicial process. For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the Foul Play Review Committee. |
