Stem saam.

It was a great defensive effort. The guys really made sure of their 1st time tackles and put a lot of pressure on the Jaguares. They did the same to us. The remarkable thing is that essentially the Jaguares are the 9th best test team in the world when they put on their blue and white jerseys.
Am I the only one that thinks Lavanini was extremely lucky a couple of times not to be red carded after he was warned about his cleanouts. There were a couple of times after that, that he still came in from the side after whistle and at the same time did his best impersonation of a human scud missile.

A CoetzeeFB
A DyantyiW
C SkosanW
L MapoeC
E JantjiesFH
H DayimaniFL

Debuut was in 2011.

The Jags were camping on the offside line the whole match. There was no space for the backs to move. When the ball went through the hands, there was almost always a Jag defender to cut the move down. Not too many teams would have been able to look good in those circumstances. Once or twice, when there was a bit of space, the guys did look good. Many people have criticised Groom for kicking so much, but it was a tactic that worked on the day. I think that if we play against a team that does not have the line speed of the Jags, we will run them ragged.

Another thing to not is that Swys and Warren said that it was really hot and humid on Saturday, which lead to the ball being very wet. So during halftime he told the boys to be a bit more conservative than normal, which is why they kicked a bit more and didn't try many offloads and any other fancy stuff. So I don't think we should be too concerned about the attack at this moment.

Also, I don't quite understand the criticism aimed at Orie. First everyone says they barely saw him, then after the stats are displayed, now everyone says he should do more than just tackle, scrum and jump in lineouts. That is probably true, however it feels like everyone is looking for a reason to criticize him and I don't know why. What did the guy have to do when no other players also stood out with making breaks or meters? Not even the backs made a lot of meters/breaks.

I just had a look at the stats, even Marx only made 4 meters and that is from 3 runs. Schoeman made 11 meters from 6 runs Orie made 0 meters from 1 run. Sadie made 1 meter from 5 runs. So it was just a tough day at the office all round.

I agree with you. If Orie makes alot of tackles, wins most of his lineouts and cleans a couple of rucks properly, I think he did his job. We cant expect him to play like Franco Mostert... yet....
He is working hard on the field and it shows with the amount of tackles he is making.

I dont understand why Mostert is being made out to be this meter making machine? Or whatever you guys are saying? I remember Moster as a tackling machine, who worked very hard on the field by hitting rucks, etc. At this moment Orie is also making the tackles, etc. and working hard, just like Mostert. Mostert dumped our asses, btw, at least Orie is still sticking around.
