nie baie opgewonde oor die span nie. Hoe Commies nou eweskielik op die bench moet verstaan ek nie so lekker nie. Kan eintlik nou sien watse leemte daar is met die manne wat weg is en beseer is.

Dis eintlik maar moeilik met 3 eersteklas vleuels, ek is seker Swys gaan hulle baie roteer deur die seisoen sodat hulle al 3 omtrent ewe veel speel

Ek stem nogal saam, Combrinck bied bietjie meer op regter vleuel as Skosan itv sy skopvoete en krag, maar dit is ook soos Transvaal noem, ons het 3 wereldklas vleuels en dan nog Tambwe ook, wat self nie sleg is nie. Ek is meer bekommerd oor Groom, alhoewel hy nie sleg was teen die Sharks nie, hoop maar net hy verbeter en bewys my verkeerd, maar ek sou eerder vir Dillon op 9 wou sien. Verder dink ek nie die begin 15 is sleg nie, baie bly dat Schoeman begin. Met Brink en Kwagga wat nog moet terugkom het ons goeie cover in die losvoorspelers. Stutte gaan 'n probleem wees die seisoen... Hoop maar Sadie is wat ons dink hy is en dat hy nie beseer word deur die seisoen nie. Hakker kan ook 'n probleem wees, wie is die 3de hakker? Met Marx wat sekerlik goed bestuur gaan word met die wereldbeker wat voorle, wat as Jansen seerkry? Op slot behoort ons hopelik gecover te wees, mits ons redelik beseringsvry kan bly, kan nie verstaan hoe 'n mens 'n speler net vir 2 maande kontrakteer nie???? Hy gaan nog nie eers behoorlik "gesettle" wees in 2 maande nie, net geldmors om, soos dit vir my lyk, 'n oud vriend van die sharks dae so bietjie wedstrydfiks te kry voor hy oorsee gaan geld maak... Gaan 'n interesante seisoen wees. Ek dink ons sal goed doen om weer die SA konferensie te wen en hopelik die Semis te haal, maar dit is 'n lang seisoen en ons diepte in sekere posisies pla my... Jantjies bv. is nou al deur 'n hele paar seisoene sonder enige ernstige beserings, hoe lank gaan hy nog hou? Hy is seker die taaiste loskakel in SA... Dink ek nou weer terug aan Andre Pretorius en sy gesukkel met beserings... Sien hy is nou die Luiperds se afrigter.

I am really hoping, and looking forward to, the youngsters making their Lions debuts stepping up:
3. Carlu Sadie (21) – 2016/17 Junior Bok on loan to the Lions, played 8 games off the bench for the Stormers but stuck behind Springboks Frans Malherbe and Wilco Louw. 4. Rhyno Herbst (22) – A strong #4 lock who styles his play on Bakkies Botha, hopefully without the penalties 16. Pieter Jansen (23) – Still has to prove himself at senior level 17. Frans van Wyk (23) – 2015 Junior Bok. Played 13 SR games for the Bulls (3 starts) and can scrum both sides 19. Ruan Vermaak (20) – 2018 Junior Bok 21. Gianni Lombard (21) – 2017/18 Junior Bok who plays 10 and 15 22. Wandisile Simelane (20) – 2017/18 Junior Bok, plays midfield and wing. Probably one of the most anticipated SA Super Rugby debuts Herbst, Jansen, Vermaak, Lombard and Simelane were part of the Lions junior teams that won a number of SA's u19 and u21 competitions |

I think Carlu Sadie looks like the real deal, he looked fine in the match against the Sharks, and what counts in his favour this weekend is that the Jaguares are also not really that good in the scrums, in spite of what many people think or say.
Herbst certainly needs to show that he can walk the walk and not just talk the talk, it is one thing to say you want to play like Bakkies Botha but the proof is in the pudding. Jansen - Will make his Super Rugby debut, but I guess will only play a few minutes with Marx taking the majority of the 80 mins Van Wyk - Another debutant for the Lions, we will watch closely Vermaak - I've heard from many people that he played well in the 2 warmup matches but he didn't stand out for me Lombard - He's got talent but I suspect he might not get a chance on Saturday, Swys might go with Dillon Smit on the bench Simelane - Lots of talent and I would use him at 15 where he's got more space.

The #Jaguares kicked 15 penalty goals in the opening 20 minutes of their matches last season, the most of any team, while the #Lions kicked just two, with no team converting fewer.
