URC FINAL EIGHT SET AFTER THRILLING ROUND 18 CLASHES


The first ever Final Eight line-up in the United Rugby Championship has been set following the thrilling completion of Round 18.

  

Two Quarter-final games will take place in UK and Ireland while two fixtures will be hosted in South Africa marking the first time in the league’s history that play-offs will be hosted in the southern hemisphere.

  

The URC Final Eight fixtures will take place on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4 with kick-off times to be confirmed early next week following consultation with host broadcasters.

Leinster, DHL Stormers, Ulster and Vodacom Bulls have all earned the right to host home Quarter-final games against Glasgow Warriors, Edinburgh, Munster and Cell C Sharks respectively.

  

League rankings determined which teams were placed into each Final Eight fixture with home advantage in the Final Four going to the winners of Quarter-final 1 and Quarter-final 2. Home advantage for the URC Grand Final going to the team with the highest ranking.


United Rugby Championship Final Eight (Fri, Jun 3 & Sat, Jun 4)


  1. Leinster v Glasgow Warriors
  2. DHL Stormers v Edinburgh
  3. Ulster v Munster
  4. Vodacom Bulls v Cell C Sharks

  

Rankings for the URC Final Eight were determined by each team’s placing in the league table:


  1. Leinster 67 points
  2. DHL Stormers 61 points
  3. Ulster 59 points
  4. Vodacom Bulls 58 points
  5. Cell C Sharks 57 points
  6. Munster 56 points
  7. Edinburgh 54 points
  8. Glasgow Warriors 50 points


Confirmation of United Rugby Championship Shield winners 2021/22:

Irish Shield: Leinster

South African Shield: DHL Stormers

Welsh Shield: Ospreys

Scottish x Italian Shield: Edinburgh

Suid-Afrika behoort twee spanne in die semi's te hê. Ek weet egter nie wie in hierdie kompetisie kan vir Leinster klop nie. Wat die Leeus betref... voor die kompetisie het die meeste van ons gedink dit gaan 'n disaster wees, maar 8 wenne en nog 'n paar ander wedstryde waar ons naby was is nie so sleg as mens vat waar ons was na laas jaar se Curriebeker nie. Nou moet ons net dinge nog 'n stappie hoër vat van hier af. 'n Paar slim en betenisvolle aankope (soos 'n sterk, gehalte vaskop om vir Sadie te vervang) sal wel nodig wees. Ons kan nie die volgende URC ingaan met Dreyer as ons enigste gehalte vaskop nie.

Ek hoop net n SA span maak dit tot die final, dit sal great wees. Dink nie die Sharks gaan dit verby die Bulle maak nie en ek glo die Stormers is goed genoeg om verder te gaan.

Ja ek neem aan baie mense sal seker maar SR verkies.

Definitief, URC is 'n sukses in my opinie.

Daar was so video van die top 5 driee wat die naweek in SR gedruk was, elke patroon was presies dieselfde van die verskillende spanne. Tot nou toe voel dit nie so in die URC nie, nie dat dit beter is nie, maar dit is tenminste iets anders en die Euro storie gaan verseker help om mense te lok.

solank daai SA span die Bulle is en nie die WP of Sharks nie

Afternoon, can somebody please advise on the covid protocol for attending matches? Do they scan your vaccination certificate? Must you just present it? Or is it just a temp scan at the gate? Please.
