Verseker. As ons beenkop foute  kan uitsny, kan ons verseker wen. Dis onnodige foute op die aanval wat ons teen die sharks gekelder het. Ek glo ons het skep genoeg geleenthede, net om die bal dan weer op die aanval te verloor. As ons die kommunikasie in die agterlyn kan verbeter, en ons skrummie vinniger skoonmaak, het ons n kans.

Fear of failure- dis wat die druk aan jou doen en dan maak jy sulke mamparra foute. Moenie die impak van Dr. Gericke onderskat by die Bulle nie. Hy het nie verniet 'n WB saam met JW gewen nie. Het ons ooit so iemand?

Ja, ons gebruik Dr Jannie Putter. Hy kom al van Ackermen se tyd saam met die span.

Lions banking on new No 10 and captain for Stormers visit

Ivan van Rooyen's team will be desperate to win after going down to the Bulls and Sharks in the first two rounds of action.

The Lions have a new captain and a new flyhalf in the hot seat for Saturday’s Rainbow Cup SA game against the Stormers at Ellis Park.

And, big Willem Alberts is back from injury and will take a place among the reserves.

Alberts has been out of action for several weeks and will cover lock and loose-forward in a match the Lions and Stormers will be desperate to win. Both teams have lost their opening two games.

This will be the Lions’ first home game after previously playing in Pretoria and Durban.

Besides the return of Alberts, which significantly boosts the experience in the side, coach Ivan van Rooyen has made a few other changes as well.

The captain in the first two games, inside centre Dan Kriel, is out of the run-on side and replaced by Burger Odendaal, who also takes over the leadership of the team.

Young Jordan Hendrikse, the younger brother of Sharks No 9 Jaden, will get his first proper taste of senior action when he runs out in the No 10 jersey, coming in for Fred Zeilinga, who shifts down to the bench.

Also, in the forwards, experienced hooker Jaco Visagie is back in the mix with PJ Botha now on the bench, while experienced prop Ruan Dreyer will add power to the scrums later in the game.

This match is the first of three home games in a row. Next week the Lions welcome the Bulls and they’ll be followed to Ellis Park by the Sharks. The team’s final round robin fixture is in Cape Town against the Stormers.

Kick-off on Saturday is 1.30pm.

Burger is 'n beter opsie op 12 as Dan Kriel, ek's verstom om te sien hoe baie tackles Dan Kriel mis, terwyl Burger redelik solied op 12 is. Hy hou net nie baie van uitgee nie so sal maar moet sien hoe dit vir ons agterlyn uitwerk

Ja Odendaal se insluiting is 'n plus. Indien ons dit kan deurtrek, sal dit deur ons voorspelers moet wees. Vreemd dat hulle Hedrikse kies, hy het in verlede jaar se O21s kompitisie nie eens die begin span gehaal nie, en net opgekom as heelagter (hy kan minstens nie veel erger as Zelingha wees nie).

Hendrikse was as ek reg onthou tot nou onlangs by die Saru high performance academy in die Kaap. Die Leeus het hom laat kom toe Elton oorsee is, of toe Tiaan Swanepoel seerkry.

Stem, Swys het nogal nou die aand op daai program van hom ge highlight hoe Dan soms geneig is om sy skouers te draai, en nie square met die opponente se agterlyn bly nie, en hoe maklik die aanvaller hom dan sidestep. Burger lyk vir my ook of hy vinniger is as Dan.
