Dit sal great wees.

Looking at the Lions players from whom the squad probably will be selected more than half are currently 22 or younger

<21: 5
21: 10
22: 12
23: 3
24: 3
25: 5
26: 4
27: 0
28: 1
29: 3
30: 2
37: 1

Unless the Lions have some signings we don't know about

Date of birth 8 July 1999
Height 181cm
Weight 96kg

James Henry Mollentze 2018 moments

I was concerned with the team and was looking at how the other sides were buying, put actually we are not that bad off.

Reading this article , puts it into context a little

Players we lost

Sylvian Mahuza - Great player, but we have depth anyway
Madosh Tambwe - Great player, but we have depth anyway
Ruan Combrinck - Never regained his former glory
Harold Vorster - Had sooo much potential, one great season, this is a loss a feel
Lionel Mapoe - Past his sell by date
Nic Groom - Thank G he is gone
Kwagga Smith - Big loss, but we have Schoeman , very similar player. we have more options in the loosies now, which is actually better.
James Venter - Never had a proper chance to prove himself
Stephan Lewies - VERY average
Lourens Erasmus -  Brilljant player , but always injured
Malcolm Marx - Huge loss, but great that its only for 1 season
Robbie Coetzee - Average at his best....
Jacobie Adriaanse - Sub standard tighhead

Players we gained

Jannie du Plessis - Adds depth and a wealth of experience
Carlo Sadie - The future 3 of the boks, great signing.
Jamba Ulengo - Not convinced about him, but we have depth at wing ,
Dan Kriel - Could be a great player, especially how the lions play. Harold Voster type player
Roelof Smit - Great to have a proper fetcher , will balance our trio very nicely
Andre Warner - Very talented 9 , will trade him for Groom any day of the week.

If Willem Alberts passes his test , he could be the enforcer lock we lost in Franco...

All in all , not that bad.

Plus we have the advantage of talented youngsters like Simelane, Lombard, Green now in their 2nd season of superugby...

We have some good youngsters. However, we will have a very young squad with about 70% of our players under 25. Combine this with an inexperienced coaching team we are going to have a tough year next year but a team that can grow into a very good team over the next few years if we can keep our players

No, I have no secret information.. that's Transvaal's domain šŸ˜‚ I just came across a video of the kid and was wondering.. he seems a good prospect, if his scrummaging is decent then the open field play is a big plus.
