Its starting to get ridiculous, the amount of changes every week.. how can a team possibly perform when there are minimum 7-8 changes per week?? How can you expect your combinations to grow? Player confidence in each other and the coaching staff must be at an all time low.

I think back to a specific moment during the Ireland series in 2016. We were in trouble; Elton was at flyhalf and Combrink came on as a substitute Elton threw a massive skip pass to what looked like nobody but out of nowhere Combrink ran onto it at huge pace and went on to score.

I bring that up because that pass and try would never have happened if there was no understanding between each other, and that is not built by chopping and changing every week.

With the exception of Sithole and Robbie, this is pretty much our strongest forward pack. I think Sti will buckle again this weekend, he just isn't up to this level.

I'm happy about Lombard at 10, Elton has been really flat and Lombard brought pace and impetus to the backline last week.

Would prefer Green at 15, but that's not going to happen. Otherwise it's not a bad team at all.

Tyrone Green will join the team in New Zealand today.

 

The following changes will take place to the Emirates Lions side to take on the Chiefs:

·       Andries Coetzee moves to fullback from the bench

·       Ruan Combrinck moves onto the bench

Agree 100% about the constant changes. It's one thing dropping an oke that's been out of form for a while, but dropping guys who've actually performed well (Simelani) and guys short on gametime (Commies) is not good man management. 

That try by Commies was one of my favourites by a bok. The other was Thinus Delport cutting through the AB's on Ellispark (if I remember correctly)

Het ook nou na hul span gekyk, daar is nie baie bekende name daar nie.. net dalk staan ons 'n kans? 1/3 op toer klink darem beter as 0/3.. Ouch

Chiefs ervaar ook maar 'n sukkel seisoen, en nou sit hulle sonder hul twee ster spelers ( Retallic , Mckenzie). Ons kan 'n haas uit die hoed uit pluk, maar daarvoor moet ons vaste hul kant bring en die loosies moet maar vinnig hul voete vind. Agterlangs lyk ons maar beroerd, veral op verdediging.

Hulle 9 en 12 is baie goed. Hul 2 stutte is ook nie sleg nie. As ek reg onthou het altwee al vir die All Blacks gespeel. Die no4 slot speel agsteman vir Canada.
Dis dalk n cliche, maar ons enigste kans gaan wees as ons hulle voorlangs kan oorheers, en vir die backs vinnige bal gee.
Ons sal ook moet sorg dat ons nie te veel op die verkeerde plekke speel nie, en dat ons nie balle in kontak verloor nie.
