Am is their captain , will be a bad move for Simelane. He must get regular starts at 13 if he wants to reach his potential

Bulls: Johnny Kotze, Manie Libbok
Lions: Malcolm Marx, Tyrone Green, Ruan Vermaak, Shaun Reynolds
Sharks: Andre Esterhuizen, Tyler Paul, Andisa Ntsila, Mapimpi
Stormers: Wilco Louw, Dillyn Leyds, Pieter-Steph Du Toit, Jean Luc du Plessis, Cobus Wiese

This has nothing to do with the state of our union. This is not a new thing, and as I have explained to Leeubok, Players tend to go where their support structure is. Gelant is a wp boy. His whole family and most of his friends are from there. He probably wanted to go back, come hell or high water.
Before Akker van der Merwe left for the Sharks, he had an interview with a newspaper, where he told the journalist that he grew up in the Southern Cape, and would love to live close to the sea. I then knew that we were going to lose him. The Sharks offered him a starting spot, and the coastal lifestyle that he desired. I don't think that they offered him more money. This is a thing that has been going on for decades. Way back in the 90's AJ Venter went to the Sharks for the same reason (to live by the sea), and there are loads of players that has done the same. Schalk Brits is another example, so too Joe van Niekerk.
A former CEO of the Lions used to be a frequent visitor on this site about a decade ago, and he cornfirmed just that: The Lions and the Bulls needed to cough up a lot more money to attract and retain players.

Either way. Voel eintlik of ons agteruit boer
